Accessibility - It's the right thing to do
There are a number of reasons why a website should meet accessibility standards, not the least of which is that some people with disabilities will use specialized devices to visit your website. If your site does not make it easy for these devices to scan the content, these visitors will become frustrated and leave before finding what they came for.
In Ontario, a new law will soon come into effect that requires websites to meet the Accessibility Standard for Information and Communications. Requirements are being phased in between 2012 and 2017 depending on the type of organization (private or public) and the number of employees in the organization.
Not sure if your website will comply? poloDesign has partnered with The Bureau of Internet Accessibility to provide testing and compliance services that will help your organization meet the requirements of the law.
